Our cutie patootie Sophie is a (as we thought) foster fail!

After a couple of meet and greets mum Vanessa decided she was head over heels in love with her little chunks! and the deal was done….

Sophie has settled in with her sisters Betsy and Lucy and has found a new playmate in Betsy! Lucy being the senior lady is not fussed by the antics of her sisters and probably quite happy she can be left in peace!

We know we’ll be receiving lots of happy updates on how Sophie is doing as thankfully foster mum Vanessa is still sticking with us and will continue to foster – we wish them all a very happy and healthy life together 🩷

*We know there have been some very disgruntled people who put in applications for Sophie, we received a heap of enquiries and applications for her. There are certain criteria points that each dog requires in his or her future home, we always look at each application and decide whether to go to a telephone interview IF we think the home could be a possibility. Next stage is a house check/meet and greet at the potential adopters own home.
We do not accept photos/videos/people turning up at the carers house to adopt the dog. That is not and never has been, nor will be, the way our adoption process works.
I could give many examples of why we do house checks and don’t accept photos, but I’m sure you’re all aware of the stuff that goes on out there and the amount of trust we have no choice but to put in people when we adopt a dog to them.
I’ve been called everything from selfish, arrogant, lacking in respect, they are just the words I will post, the rudest ones I’ll leave to your imagination!

So I will say, if I am any or all of those things, I actually do not care – my priorities first and foremost are to the dogs in my charity, their safety is of the utmost importance and always will be. Name calling is like water off a ducks back to me, I will never be dictated to just because someone does not get to adopt a dog – we are a teeny tiny charity and honestly we obviously have very few dogs that we have in foster care, those who are waiting for homes, or still in care, they are with us until the perfect home comes along. But I’m sure there will always be those who are disappointed because they are not chosen, unfortunately that’s life isn’t it!

On that note have a great weekend and keep smiling ☺️
