Sweet Paws Foster Care Process

Thank you for considering opening your heart and home to a dog in need through our foster care program. Your role as a foster carer is important in providing a safe and loving environment for vulnerable dogs as they await their forever homes.

Step 1: Submit a Foster Care Application

Fill out the below application form with accurate and detailed information. Please ensure all fields are complete.

Step 2: Phone Interview

Once your application is received, you’ll be scheduled for a phone interview with our foster care coordinator. During the interview, we’ll discuss your experience, living situation, and preferences for fostering. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

Step 3: Home Visit

Pending a successful phone interview, a Sweet Paws representative will conduct a home visit to ensure your living space is safe and suitable for fostering a dog. This step helps us understand the environment in which the dog will be placed.

Step 4: Match with a Foster Dog

Once approved, we’ll match you with a dog based on your preferences and the dogs needs. We’ll provide you with all necessary information about the dogs health, behaviour, and any specific requirements.

Step 5: Begin Fostering

Welcome your foster dog into your home and provide them with love, care, and attention. Attend any necessary veterinary appointments and communicate regularly with our team to provide updates on the dogs well-being.

Step 6: Adoption Process

When a suitable forever home is found, we’ll guide you through the adoption process. Your input on the dogs personality and needs will be invaluable in ensuring a successful match.
