Isabella’s CT results show:
Multiple old healed rib fractures.
Permanently dislocated right hip.
Collapsed disc spaces in her neck bones, likely trauma.
These changes have likely been there for a long time including her hip luxation as there is evidence of a false joint forming. Having spoken with the surgeons regarding this for her, while there are options for surgeries for her hip, including total hip replacement, given how long this has likely been there, it is not something that they would usually strongly recommend as the risk of significant complications would be very high.
Similarly her neck, ribs and knee are all old injuries that have been there for quite a while and surgery at this stage would not be indicated.
Though Isabella has endured some extremely rough times in her previous life, she is now very much in a happy place. We’ll be looking to start her on long term pain relief as her injuries even though healed to a degree physically, though not mentally, have led to severe arthritis in her tiny body.
Isabella and Chase will have the very best of lives moving forward, and after 5 months in foster care both will stay together and have been adopted together ♥️
