As we approach the EOFY I thought I’d share with you a little bit of a financial update from our end. We rarely ask for donations, everyone is coping with their own financial situation so we try to raise money for the charity ourselves. We’re extremely fortunate (and grateful) that Mornington Bunnings support us with their Sausage Sizzles NFP scheme – we are holding another BBQ next month to raise funds.
The last two months we’ve paid vet bills of just under $10k, our donations and fundraising income were around half of that – adoption fees help us to boost our income allowing us to take in dogs.
Today Sophia is back in the clinic having a ACTH stim test to check if she has Cushings, she may also need an X-ray for a sore leg.
We’ve had Patches, Dash and Bert having major dentals during that time, Dash had a consultation with Dr Richard Woolley the cardiologist, Jazz requiring patella surgery and Bert being rushed into the vets with sudden cluster seizures.
We have a new little girl that just had her vet check (we’re waiting on a few things before we introduce her)!
And I’ve turned down a few surrenders because they weren’t good fits for our team.
I alway like to make sure there’s enough money in the account ‘just-in-case’, but as with Bert we never know when an unexpected event might occur.
I pay all our vet bills at each appointment so I can keep track of our expenses, and of course when we take in a dog we never really know what we are going to find.
So…..! If you were looking at making an end of financial year donation and would like a tax receipt please shoot me an email: sweetpawsdogrescue@gmail.com
We understand the majority of people donate to the larger charities and organisations, and here we are, the small fry just hoping for a donation here and there! We’d be extremely grateful if you’d help us ♥️
