When Buddy first came to us, he was anxious, timid, and carried no trust in the world around him. He had been failed by the very people who should have loved him, nurtured his soul, and made him feel like the best boy.

Instead, he was left with nothing but fear and uncertainty.

With the help of his dedicated foster carers, Buddy began to take the tiniest of steps forward. Slowly, he started to believe that maybe people could be kind. But we knew that leaving him in long-term care would only hold him back from truly flourishing, he needed his very own family, one who could help him keep building on that fragile trust.

And then, we found them.

Buddy’s past will always be part of his story. As a product of a breeding facility where animals were treated as commodities, his mistrust in humans is sadly well earned. But the past is behind him now, and the future is brighter than ever.

Buddy has struck gold. He now has a family who is fully invested in him, quirks, fears, slow progress and all. A family who will walk beside him, never rush him, and celebrate every single victory along the way.
