Please welcome Ricci to the club!

Ricci is one of three little ones we recently welcomed from RSPCA Burwood.

This timid two-year-old boy weighs just 3.5kg and has had very limited life experiences. Coming from a hoarding situation, the shelter environment was understandably overwhelming for him. When he first arrived, his fear was evident—he backed himself into a corner of the pen, unsure and afraid.

Now settling in with his foster family, Ricci is slowly adjusting to life beyond the four walls he once knew. He’s still hesitant to leave the house, even for quick outdoor toilet breaks, and anxiously rushes back inside, clinging to the safety of his comfy spot on the couch. For now, that space is his sanctuary, and he’s unsure if he’ll be allowed back once he steps out.

Despite his fear, Ricci is incredibly sweet and gentle. He’s never had the structure or boundaries that help a little dog thrive, but we’re hopeful. With time, patience, and love, we know he’ll start to realise the world isn’t such a scary place—and that he has a bright future ahead of him.

Ricci has his vet check booked for this Thursday. All going well, we can then shift focus to building his confidence and helping him prepare for the next step: finding a forever home where he’ll be truly cherished 🩶
