A Little Update from Candy 🩷

We absolutely love receiving updates like this — and this one gave us the biggest smile.

Our beautiful little Candy, the 16-year-old blind sweetheart who stole so many hearts, is settling into her new life just beautifully.

Her new mum says Candy is doing incredibly well and has proven herself to be the sweetest little old lady. Now that the weather is finally starting to cool, Candy has been able to head out on more adventures. Recently she enjoyed a gentle trip up the road to a little bush town for what her family calls a “cuddle walk” with Marty — a slow wander filled with snuggles and fresh air, just the way Candy likes it.

Her coat, which once needed a little TLC, is growing back wonderfully. It’s now soft, shiny, and looking better every day — a lovely sign of how relaxed and cared for she is in her new home.

Candy recently visited the vet for some more eye drops and was an absolute star, taking it all in her stride like the brave little lady she is.

At home she’s discovered a few favourite things. The front garden has quickly become one of Candy’s happy places, where she enjoys exploring the smells of the world around her. And perhaps the sweetest update of all… Candy is discovering just how wonderful cuddles can be. Each day she’s enjoying being held and snuggled a little more.

Candy now shares her home with her lovely family — Mya, Marty and Martha — who are clearly completely smitten with their tiny new companion.

Updates like this remind us exactly why we do what we do. Seeing a little senior girl, once uncertain about her future, now surrounded by love, warmth and adventures is everything we could have hoped for.
