Another of our beautiful oodles recently welcomed into care, Maggie’s journey is one that quietly tugs at the heart. These dogs came from a world far removed from the comfort, safety, and love we believe every companion animal deserves, and yet, here she is—trying, learning, and ever so gently beginning to trust.
Watching these sweet souls transform into the dogs they were always meant to be is something we will never take for granted. Every tiny step forward feels like a milestone, and Maggie is showing us just how brave she truly is.
From her foster carer:
“Morning all,
Maggie very slowly coming around. She lays down when we go outside and I approach her, so she gets pats and belly rubs and I’m able to get my hands all over her.
After I walk away she stays there for a minute then comes in looking for me.
Just slowly slowly still after 8 days.”
It might sound like something small—but for Maggie, this is huge. Choosing to stay. Coming back to look for her human. Allowing touch. Beginning to feel safe.
There’s no rushing a heart that’s learning trust for the very first time, but Maggie is on her way 💛
