Our beautiful boy Barkley is ready to find his forever home 🐾
Barkley has settled beautifully into foster care and is now getting to experience all the little joys he missed out on in his previous life. Watching him discover comfort, routine, and companionship has been incredibly special.
Barkley is a gentle soul with a sweet nature and has so much love to give. He’s a well-mannered boy who absolutely thrives on routine, especially when it comes to mealtime. Barkley is always ready and waiting in his special spot for breakfast and dinner, showing off his impeccable manners as he patiently waits for his meals and treats. A true foodie at heart!
Barkley has also proven to be wonderful with other dogs. He settled in effortlessly with his canine foster siblings and really enjoys their company, so he would thrive in a home with a friendly, confident dog to show him the ropes.
He can be a little shy around people at first and isn’t a fan of loud noises or sudden movements, so a calm home would suit him best. With patience, kindness, and consistency, Barkley begins to relax and show his true self. While he may not be overly cuddly right away, his affectionate side is there — just waiting for the right person to help it shine.
At home, Barkley is an easy companion. He sleeps soundly in his own bed (whether that’s in the lounge or bedroom) and loves a cheeky play on the bed with his doggy friends. He also enjoys pottering around the garden or sitting at the open front door, taking in the world and watching the birds go by.
Barkley does have a little “escape artist” streak when he gets frightened, so he will need a secure harness and a patient handler when out and about, along with a safe, secure yard at home.
He would be best suited to a home with another playful dog or a family ready to give him the time, understanding, and love he needs to truly flourish.
