Meet Bella 💕
This sweet little 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Maltese found herself in the care of RSPCA Victoria after being surrendered.
When Bella first arrived at the shelter, she was completely overwhelmed and terrified of the world around her. She hid under the admissions desk, flinching at even the gentlest touch. She was so shut down she struggled to eat or drink — everything was just too much.
While in shelter care, Bella received a thorough vet check, was desexed and vaccinated, and even had a dental — giving her the best possible start before moving into her next chapter.
Then… she found her way into foster care ✨
And slowly, beautifully — Bella has begun to blossom.
“So much for no toys… she LOVES to play!” her foster carer tells us. This once-shy little girl is now seeking out affection, enjoying pats, and discovering the simple joy of toys and comfy dog beds. She’s learning routines, gaining confidence, and starting to feel safe.
Like any dog adjusting to a new environment, she’s had a small accident indoors, but she’s already showing she can toilet outside when guided — she just needs patience and consistency.
Bella is gentle and affectionate once she feels safe. She’s learning quickly and responding well to routine, already finding playtime and human connection can be fun.
At this stage, Bella is not yet ready for adoption. She is continuing to decompress and build her confidence in foster care, and we’ll share updates as she progresses on her journey 💕
