Rubble is continuing to show us what an incredibly sweet and gentle soul he really is.
When he first arrived into care, he was so shut down and unsure of the world around him. Everything felt unfamiliar, overwhelming and scary for this beautiful boy. Watching him slowly start to trust again has been nothing short of special.
Recently, we made the decision to move Rubble from one foster home into another. Rescue is always a balancing act, and opening up a foster spot meant we were able to help another dog urgently needing safety and care. Of course we worried about how Rubble would cope with another change, especially after everything he’s already been through.
But true to his beautiful nature, he has been such a good boy.
Rubble settled in far better than we could have hoped. He’s shown us just how resilient and loving he really is, and how much he simply wants to feel safe and close to people who care for him.
These days, one of his favourite things in the world is curling up on the couch beside his foster mum Vanessa while they watch TV together. It’s become part of his little nightly routine — finding his comfy spot, leaning in close and finally allowing himself to completely relax. For a dog who has spent so much of his life simply surviving, those quiet moments are huge.
He has such a soft and affectionate nature. He’s happiest just being near his humans, soaking up kindness, comfort and reassurance. Every day we see a little more confidence appear, a little more personality shine through, and it’s honestly such a privilege to witness.
Rubble is learning that life can be gentle now. That homes are filled with warmth, not fear. That couches are for snuggling, TV nights and naps. That he matters.
The transformation hasn’t happened overnight and there is still a journey ahead for him, but seeing him begin to truly decompress and enjoy life is incredibly emotional for all of us.
A huge thank you to both of Rubble’s foster families for helping him along the way, and to Vanessa for continuing to give him the patience, love and understanding he needs to thrive.
We are so proud of you, sweet boy 🩵
