When Hazel arrived in our care after life in an intensive breeding facility, she was terrified of the world and scared of her own shadow. Watching her slowly learn to trust has been one of the most rewarding journeys.
Today, Hazel loves her daily walks, enjoys a run at the fenced dog park and has become the sweetest little shadow, happily following her people wherever they go. While she’s not quite a cuddly girl yet, she shows her love in her own quiet way.
Hazel must have another friendly, confident dog in her forever home. Her foster sisters have taught her so much, and having a canine companion is essential for her continued confidence.
Hazel also has ongoing skin issues that require lifelong management. She is currently doing well, but her future family will need to be committed to regular veterinary care, appropriate treatment and weekly medicated baths to keep her comfortable and healthy.
Hazel’s perfect family won’t mind that trust takes time, because they’ll know that every small step forward is worth celebrating.
