The truth is, Billy isn’t the kind of dog who will walk straight up to a stranger with a wagging tail. He needs a little time. Having had very little socialisation early in life, the world can still feel overwhelming, and when he’s unsure, he’ll let you know with a growl. It’s simply his way of saying, “Please be patient with me.”
Sadly dogs like Billy are often overlooked because they’re not the easiest at first meeting. But those who understand timid dogs know that the greatest relationships are built on trust, not instant affection.
Once Billy trusts you, you’ll discover a funny, affectionate and incredibly loyal little companion who absolutely adores his people.
Billy loves his meals, enjoys heading out for walks, thinks car rides are exciting and is happiest curled up beside his favourite humans. He’s a clever little boy who confidently uses the dog door and settles beautifully into a routine.
Billy is looking for a calm, experienced home where life moves at a gentle pace. He needs people who understand that trust can’t be rushed and are happy to let him build confidence in his own time using kindness and positive reinforcement.
