We’re a little late celebrating Annie’s first adoption anniversary, but sometimes the important things are worth celebrating whenever we get the chance!

Annie, formerly known as Jess, came into our care from RSPCA Burwood after being rescued from a large group of Bichons.

She was a neglected little love who had missed out on so much, but her life was about to change in the best possible way.

Apple and Thomas had been following Annie’s journey while she was in our care and, before long, they had fallen completely head over heels in love with her.

Fast forward to today and Annie is the absolute queen of her home!

She has gone from a little dog who had been overlooked and neglected to a much-loved member of a family who thinks the world of her. And honestly, could there be a better ending?

Every adoption is special.

Every family who chooses to adopt is special.

And every home that opens its heart to a rescue dog and gives them the chance to experience the life they missed out on is exactly why we do what we do.

It’s also why our foster carers are so important. They open their homes, give these dogs a safe place to land, help them heal and show them what being loved really feels like — until their forever family comes along.

Annie, we couldn’t be happier for you, beautiful girl.

And Apple and Thomas… thank you for seeing the gorgeous girl underneath the neglect and giving Annie the life she always deserved.

Happy belated 1st Gotcha Day, Annie!

You really did strike gold 💛
