❤️ 100 DOGS. 100 SECOND CHANCES. AND TOBY IS NUMBER 100 ❤️

In November 2023, we began this journey with one simple purpose: to give dogs a chance at a better life.

We have reached a milestone that means more to us than words can say. Toby is the 100th dog to enter our registered charity’s foster care since we began.

But the fact that our 100th dog is Toby, a dog whose story has left so many people feeling angry, heartbroken and searching for answers, makes this milestone particularly emotional.

We understand the anger. We understand the sadness. We are saddened and angry ourselves that Toby has endured such terrible neglect.

Unfortunately, we have also had to block a number of people due to offensive content and, in some cases, deeply concerning and aggressive comments about almost every aspect of Toby’s story. We understand that emotions are running high, but there must be boundaries around how those emotions are expressed.

So, where do we go from here?

We move forward.

We cannot undo what he has endured, and we cannot change the circumstances that brought him to us.

What we can do is make sure his life from this point on is filled with the veterinary care, patience, safety and compassion he deserves.

As a dog rescue charity, our focus must remain on the dogs who need us, the dogs currently in our care and the dogs we have yet to help. We will not be commenting on or discussing criminal matters relating to Toby’s neglect. That is not our role.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and we respect that people feel strongly about Toby’s story. But we ask that you respect our position, too.

We can only help shape Toby’s future. And that is exactly what we intend to do.

One hundred dogs since November 2023. One hundred lives given a chance at something better.

From this moment forward, Toby deserves kindness where there was neglect, comfort where there was suffering, and love where there was so much heartbreak.

His past will always be part of his story, but it does not have to define his future.

Toby’s story is no longer just about what he has endured. It’s about what comes next. And we are determined to make sure that his next chapter is filled with the care, dignity and compassion every dog deserves 💙
