Whilst in the shelter, our sweet little girl Lucy was in desperate need of a groom. Her overwhelming anxiety meant that only a basic welfare groom was possible—just enough to remove the worst of her matting. When she arrived in foster care, she rather resembled a little lion, with a mane and fluffy paws, earning her the name Kimba.

Now that she’s had a proper tidy-up, she no longer looks like a lion, and a name change felt right for our beautiful girl. She’s now known as Lucy, which suits her perfectly.

A few days ago, Lucy wasn’t feeling her best. A vet check revealed a fungal ear infection and a nasty bout of conjunctivitis. With the right medications—and with some previous treatments now weaned off so we can see the real Lucy in a calm, safe environment—we’re hopeful her ear and eye will soon heal.

Foster parents Malcolm and Sandra say Lucy is settling in a little more each day, and we’re excited to watch her continue to blossom 🌼
