Well look who just landed on our doorstep…

Meet Luna!

At just 18 months old, this gorgeous girl found herself in the shelter — underweight, under-socialised, and incredibly timid with both people and dogs. She came into care through the Inspectorate due to containment issues, and it’s clear she’s had very little guidance or consistent human interaction.

Now, I’m no expert — but I’ve had more than my fair share of dogs — and everything about Luna’s story screams of an owner who simply didn’t invest the time, patience, or energy into helping this young pup grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog. It’s not rocket science, is it? Bringing a puppy into your life is a responsibility — and helping them feel safe and loved should be a non-negotiable priority.

Anyway… moving on!

Luna is thriving. She’s already mastered the doggie door, explored the (very secure!) garden, and met her fur foster siblings. Yesterday she was like the Energiser Bunny — full of beans, slightly unsure — but by today she’s just one of the pack.

She may not know what a soft toy is (yet!), but she’s going outside to toilet, sleeping soundly beside foster mum Marion at night, and soaking up the comfort of being safe. Yes, she jumps — but no more than any under-socialised pup figuring things out. She is sweet, playful, affectionate, and absolutely soaking up every moment of her new life.

All signs point to a little dog who simply never had the chance to learn how to “dog” — but we’ll fix that.

Next week she’ll head off for her vet check, and in the meantime, we’ll keep helping her grow in confidence, discover the joy of toys, and learn what it means to live life as a cherished member of the family.

We’re so happy to have you on board, Luna 💕
