Yesterday we welcomed Teddy — or as he’s affectionately known, Little Ted, or given his size (a tiny 2.2kg!)… Tiny Ted!
Teddy is around 5 years old and believed to be a Chihuahua X — though we’re not quite sure what he’s crossed with. Any guesses?
Surrendered to the Inspectorate, little Teddy arrived absolutely terrified — trembling, backing into the walls and trying to make himself invisible, as if hoping that if he couldn’t be seen, he’d be left alone. He was noted as one of the most fearful from a large group of 12 animals surrendered from the same property.
His body condition score was 2.5/5 and he weighed just 1.5kg, though honestly at 2.2kg we’re convinced that half of that is his adorable ears!
Yesterday, Teddy was fitted out with his brand new collar, lead and an XXS harness (so small you could almost miss it!). His food bag was filled up (thank you Lyka Pet Food), and he headed off to his foster home with Giulia and Bill.
He’s already met his foster fur siblings, enjoyed his dinner, and settled comfortably on the couch between his foster mum’s legs — a perfect little spot for such a tiny boy. We haven’t heard yet this morning how his first night went, but we’re hopeful it was a peaceful one.
It’s been a huge change for this little man — from living in poor conditions, to time in the shelter (where he received lots of care and gentle attention), and now settling into foster care. He can finally start to feel safe and comfortable while we help him get ready for the next chapter — finding his forever home.
Welcome Teddy 🩵
*Not yet ready for adoption.
