This is little Mia 💔
She was found abandoned in a carrier at a train station.

The shelter was able to make contact with a possible owner, however she was never reclaimed.

Mia is the sweetest soul.

A Stray. Found with a cat — and yes, the cat is safe.

People often ask if we are ever shocked or angry by what we see. Perhaps a better word is resigned.
Resigned to the reality that some people will never do the right thing by their pets. That instead of reaching out to a shelter for help or advice, they choose to place their animals in a carrier and casually dump them at a train station.

It’s something we personally cannot fathom — and therein lies the heart of the problem with negligence as a pet owner.

Yesterday afternoon, foster dad Tristan collected Mia from the shelter. This beautiful senior lady, estimated to be around 12 years old, travelled home safely to her new foster home, where foster mum Carolynne was waiting to welcome her with open arms. We cannot thank Tristan and Carolynne enough for stepping up for Mia when she needed it most.

So for now, all we can say is this:

Welcome to Sweet Paws, Mia.
