Please welcome Sid 🤎
Sid is the third of our tiny Chihuahuas surrendered to the inspectorate from an intensive breeding facility — one of 22 dogs removed from a life no dog should ever know. A life without comfort, without security, without love.
Of all the little souls rescued, Sid is the most fragile. The most fearful. The most unsure of this big, unfamiliar world. As an ex puppy farm dog, his instinct isn’t to run toward people, it’s to survive them.
But even in just a short time, we’re already seeing the smallest, most beautiful cracks in that fear.
A gentle update from his incredible foster mum Kelly this morning:
“Good morning 💜 Sid update: we had success with the puppy pads overnight!
We fed Sid while we both sat at the door to try and start building some trust. He ate half way between us and his bed! He retreats to the security of his crate immediately after. Slowly slowly over here.”
For most dogs, this wouldn’t seem like much.
For Sid, it’s everything.
Choosing to eat closer to people instead of hiding, even just halfway, is bravery. It’s the beginning of trust. It’s hope.
Sid doesn’t need fixing. He needs time, patience, and people who will show him — over and over again — that the world can be kind.
And we promise him, it will be 🤎
