Well… we survived Saturday’s Bunnings sausage sizzle. Barely. 🌭🔥

At this stage we think we sold around 900 sausages. Possibly more. Nobody can remember because somewhere around sausage number 647 we all lost the ability to count properly.

The BBQ worked overtime, the onions caused emotional damage, and there may still be a faint smell of sausage trapped in everyone’s clothing for the next 6-8 business days.

Huge thanks to our legendary volunteer teams:

Morning shift:
Sean, Mike, Janine & Richard

Afternoon shift:
Sean, Bren, Carole & Den

You all absolutely smashed it. From cooking, serving, onion slicing, cash handling and trying not to drop bread on the ground during the Mornington wind gusts… true professionals.

Massive thanks as well to our amazing supporters:
Lindens Fresh Mornington, Bakers Delight Bentons Square, and the awesome crew at Bunnings Mornington for having us.

And to everyone who stopped by for a snag, donated, had a chat or came back for “just one more”… thank you!

Every sausage sold helps support our rescue dogs, so while we may never emotionally recover from slicing industrial quantities of onions, it was 100% worth it 🐾💛
