Eight weeks ago, Hazel arrived into our care from RSPCA Victoria.

A tiny, broken soul who had endured not only horrendous conditions, but a life of being used over and over again for breeding. A life where she existed simply to produce puppies, with very little kindness, comfort or care shown to her along the way.

Yesterday, Hazel experienced another one of her many “firsts” … her very first groom. And just quietly… she was absolutely perfect. 💕

We would also like to extend our deepest thanks (again!) to the team at Dashing Designer Dogs Mornington for their unwavering support of our foster dogs. Every single time we call and ask if they can somehow squeeze one of our little rescue babies into their already packed schedule, they say yes. The kindness and compassion they show our dogs means more than we can ever properly express.

Hazel has been dealing with ongoing itching, something we’ve been treating closely with our vets. Just when we think we’re at the end of treatment and things have finally settled, the scratching and chewing starts again. There’s a possibility it may be behavioural after everything she’s lived through, but she has another vet visit later today so we can make sure nothing else is going on for our sweet girl.

Until we have some answers for Hazel, we thought you could simply sit back and swoon over how absolutely beautiful she looks now. ✨

And if she gets the all clear… we may just be looking for her new family very, very soon 🤎

Hazel.
From forgotten breeding dog… to adored little princess.
And she wears it beautifully, don’t you think?
