🚨Today’s lesson: Don’t be like Jack!🚨

❌ Don’t try to bite your groomer.
❌ Don’t mistake fingers for chew toys.
❌ Don’t decide your muzzle is strictly a “look, don’t touch” zone. 😅

Instead…

✅ Be like Jack when it’s cuddle time.
✅ Be a world-class smoocher.
✅ Win everyone over with your sweet nature the moment the clippers are switched off ❤️

Jack recently enjoyed a spa day with our incredible team at Dashing Designer Dogs Mornington, and while he was an absolute sweetheart who loved a cuddle, he also made it very clear to groomer Teneal that tidying his muzzle was not on his agenda! 🫣

To be fair to Jack, we think he may be one of the very few rescue dogs we’ve sent who genuinely intended to have a serious go at biting. Thankfully, this is where having groomers with many years of experience is worth its weight in gold. Teneal was able to read Jack’s body language before anyone got hurt, worked around his boundaries, and still managed to make him look handsome without sacrificing a finger!

The good news is that these behaviours often come from fear and uncertainty, not nastiness. With patience, kindness, training and positive experiences, we’re confident Jack will learn that grooming doesn’t have to be scary.
