💕 Meet Cece 💕

This beautiful senior girl arrived in foster care last Friday, and our hearts have already been stolen.

Cece is 13 years old and came into RSPCA Vic’s care through the Inspectorate after her owner was hospitalised and sadly there was no one able to care for her.

When she arrived, Cece was only 5.1kg and very underweight. She had awful dental disease, itchy skin and ears, and a mammary mass. Like many senior dogs, she also has some age-related changes to her eyes and likely some arthritis.

We’re so grateful to RSPCA VIC for taking Cece in and giving her the medical care she needed. Her mammary carcinoma was removed completely, along with a few lymph nodes – with clear margins of the surrounding area, chest X-rays showed no evidence of metastatic growth.

There is still work to be done. Cece needs a much-needed dental, she has her first vet check with us tomorrow so we can get a full picture of how she’s doing and make a plan for her ongoing care.

For now, she gets a warm bed, good food, gentle hands and a safe home. Most importantly, she has people who will make sure she is cared for from here on.

A huge thank you to her wonderful foster parents, Carolynne and Tristan, for giving Cece a safe space to land.

Cece is not ready for adoption just yet. She has some healing and medical care ahead of her, and we’ll take our time to make sure she is feeling her best before we start looking for her forever home.

We may never know exactly what life was like for Cece before rescue, but we’re just so thankful that she is here now.

Welcome to Sweet Paws Cece 💕
